US C19 deaths are not correlated with state lockdown stringency in spite of 3M media propaganda

This research is not mine but I continue to be shocked how many people remain under the false impression propagated by the 3M media that lockdowns work.

So I give you Youyang Gu’s “shotgun blast” chart of C19 death rates versus state lockdown stringency:

We can dive deeper by looking at levels of restrictions in each state, using the Oxford Covid-19 Government Response Tracker (OxCGRT). More restrictions in a state is NOT correlated with fewer COVID-19 deaths. However, more restrictions IS correlated with higher unemployment.

Needless to say, an R2 of 0.023 is just a “shotgun blast” and is not correlation.

And of course my recent analysis of Sweden shows that the supposed pariah of lockdown suffered a “horrendous” overall death rate set back all the way to … 2013. Bueller?

Machiavellian? I have come to believe that the minimum malfeasance we are faced with is well meaning billionaires captured by Machiavellian advisors. But I am personally no longer that charitable.
